Commercial / Public Building Energy Assessments

Commercial / Public building energy assessments

Boucher Consultancy has assessed over 100 buildings for the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), local Councils and commercial businesses. We will conduct a site visit to inspect, measure and rate key features of your business.

Boucher Consultancy has assessed over 200 buildings for the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), local Councils and commercial businesses. We will conduct a site visit to inspect, measure and rate key features of your business.

A personalised 30-50 page report will be prepared detailing the retrofits required to improve thermal building performance, improve occupant comfort, and reduce energy costs. The report will detail economic costs, return on investment, recommended products, and local organisations that can help with upgrades.

Cost: starting from $990 (inc GST) for small businesses.

A comprehensive energy assessment will cover the following areas:

Energy consumption

An analysis of the electricity smart meter data and gas consumption will be undertaken. Graphs will be developed which show daily load profiles, monthly consumption, and costs.  Alternative energy retailers will be recommended if current electricity rates are too high.

Heating and Cooling

An analysis of current heating and cooling systems will be conducted.  If required, efficient heating and cooling systems and brands will be recommended specific to the requirements of the building.  A return on investment comparison will be provided for recommended heating and cooling systems versus current systems. High quality local installers can also be recommended.

Draft Proofing

A physical inspection of all draft points using thermal imaging technologies. The report will identify areas of heat loss / gain within your building. If appropriate, the report will provide links to high quality products to help minimise drafts, techniques for installation, and recommend local installers.

Insulation

A physical inspection of the ceiling cavity to clarify the current insulation r-value. The inspection will also determine the quality of existing insulation cover and whether gaps in insulation coverage are present.  The report will provide links to high quality insulation products and recommended local installers who can assist with upgrades.

Windows

Windows are typically the thermal weak point that exacerbates heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. The report will analyse your windows and window furnishings for thermal efficiency. If appropriate, the report will recommend high performing internal window coverings, external window options, and glazing improvements (such as double glazing retrofits and films).

Hot Water system

An analysis of the existing hot water system specific to your needs will be undertaken. If required, recommendations may include an energy efficient alternative (for example a heat pump hot water system), recommended budget and quality hot water systems, State and Federal Government rebates available, and local organisations who can assist with supply and installation.

Lighting

Report and advice on lighting upgrades to LED, occupancy sensors and government incentives for upgrades.  A return on investment comparison will be provided between existing and LED alternatives.

Pumps and Air handling units (AHU’s)

Pumps and air handling units can be significant energy users. The report will analyse your AHU’s and recommend energy efficient retrofits (such as variable speed drives).

Existing solar PV system

Inspect and analyse current solar system performance.

New/additional solar PV system and battery analysis

Recommend solar system size, layout image, recommended components (panels, inverters), estimated costs and rebates available. A return on investment analysis will be provided.
